Ending the perception of separation

Ending the perception of separation

I have previously blogged that the root of the word health is wholeness, and wholeness shares roots with the word holiness.

Wholeness speaks of unity and being one, while holiness refers to perfection.

Could it be that the key to reaching health and our perfection is realizing our wholeness?

Critical scientific discoveries demonstrate that the human race is deeply and foundationally connected. Einstein‘s famous equation E=mc2, means that all mass, or matter, everything that we see in the world, is essentially energy, multiplied by the speed of light squared.

That includes all of us. We are all made up of the same stuff - energy.

Given we are all energy beings, then perhaps it is the perception of separation and isolation, driven by our egos, that is toxic to our health. If this is true, then our path to health becomes clear - rediscover our true roots of wholeness.

As medical professionals and scientists, we tend to reduce the whole to smaller pieces that we can try to understand. While logical, this approach ignores our wholeness – the potential that each of us, as energy beings, can tap by reconnecting to each other and to our planet and universe. Is this, indeed, the real key to our health?

This finding is consistent with what Dan Buettner found in the Blue Zones of the world - that these long- and well-lived populations self-reported only living their lives fully and together. They never intended to create a model for longevity, but did embrace wholeness.

Could it be so strategically simple, but complicated operationally, that all we need to win back better health is to repair the perception of separation?

That may require a fundamental shift in how we organize our public and private lives. A common approach to individual and organizational power and control is to promote fear and separation - which tears away the fiber of safety, hope, and perhaps, health.

The result of the powerful messages of scarcity and fear result in trauma. Trauma, particularly to children and young people, predisposes individuals toward chronic disease and severe issues like opioid dependence.

Martin Luther King Jr. famously said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

What sage advice for our world and our health.

The critical elements of love and light we share with each other is what real healing is about in our lives. Once we are safe in the security of our wholeness, we can heal our wounds of imagined separation and isolation.

Resilience comes from the foundation of love and safety. This is the force that creates trust and hope, and changes mindsets from scarcity to abundance. Resilience also allows us to experience the amazing miracles that exist in all of our lives each day, but only if we can see them.

Resilience helps us navigate to wholeness.

If we rediscover wholeness in our lives, our health improves.

Wholeness to holiness. Unity to perfection.

Almost heaven.
