Diabetes Education Center to host tailgate before Black Bears’ game on Aug. 18

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The WVU Medicine Diabetes Education Center at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital will host a tailgate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, prior to the start of the West Virginia Black Bears game against the Williamsport Crosscutters at Monongalia County Ballpark.

The tailgate, which will be held in the parking lot of the WVU Medicine outpatient clinic at University Town Centre, will serve as a fundraiser for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research. It will include games and light refreshments. The goal is to raise $1,500 for JDRF.

Those who are unable to attend the tailgate but would like to make a donation to JDRF can visit the event’s website at https://bit.ly/2YQMR2E
