Marsh appoints three to new leadership roles in School of Medicine
Clay Marsh, M.D., vice president and executive dean for WVU Health Sciences, recently made three new appointments in his role as the dean of the School of Medicine.
Pangilinan Lecture to focus on vision health and volunteerism
Denise Godin, R.N., will deliver the 2015 Dr. Rizal Pangilinan Lecture at 3 p.m. Friday, July 24, in the WVU Eye Institute Pangilinan Lecture Hall. The lecture is open to the public.
Abstracts being accepted for Family Medicine Conference Poster Session
The 41st annual Hal Wanger Family Medicine Conference Poster Session will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, WVU Medicine's University Town Centre. Faculty, residents and students in any health sciences profession may submit abstracts. The deadline is 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.
Stamatakis named interim dean of School of Pharmacy
Mary K. Stamatakis, Pharm.D., will serve as interim dean of the WVU School of Pharmacy, effective Saturday, Aug. 1. She was appointed to the position by Clay Marsh, M.D., vice president and executive dean of health sciences, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of long-time Dean Patricia Chase, Ph.D.
Nield named assistant dean for admissions in School of Medicine’s medical degree program
Linda S. Nield, M.D., has been named assistant dean for admissions in the School of Medicine’s medical degree program. She is professor of pediatrics and currently serves as the director of the pediatrics residency program.
Interim dean appointed to WVU School of Dentistry post on permanent basis
Anthony (Tom) Borgia, D.D.S., M.H.A., who has been serving as interim dean of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry since August 2014, has been appointed to that post on a permanent basis by Clay Marsh, M.D., the University’s vice president and executive dean for health sciences.
'Collaboration and Team Science' presentation set for June 19
The West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI) will host a guest seminar with L. Michelle Bennett, Ph.D., chief science officer at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. She will present "Collaboration and Team Science" at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, in room 2940A, Health Sciences Center North.

Vice President and Executive Dean of Health Sciences Clay Marsh, M.D., will host the first "Connect with Clay," an open forum lunch discussion, at noon Thursday, June 18, in room 1909, located near the Pylons. Everyone is invited.

World-renowned surgeon to present 'ECMO: Past, Present and Future' on June 17
Medical pioneer and world-renowned surgeon Robert H. Bartlett, M.D., will present "ECMO: Past, Present and Future" at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, in Okey Patteson Auditorium, located on the first floor of the Health Sciences Center.
