Stansbury receives continued funding for sleep apnea training research
Robert Stansbury, M.D., professor in the West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Medicine, has received notification of continued funding for the research project “A Novel Training Intervention to Improve Provider Management of Sleep Apnea in Rural Communities.”

PUBH 493A/593A: Cancer Communications is being offered online in Spring 2027. The 3-credit course is available to undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning more about how information about cancer is produced, shared, interpreted, and acted upon in society.
Undergraduate GEF and Honors course for Spring 2027
WVU School of Public Health will offer a 3-credit course, PUBH 101: Introduction to Public and Community Health, for undergraduate students interested in learning more about public and community health. The course is available online for the Spring 2027 semester.

Parents in Medicine Invites Families to Free Puppet Show and Pool Party
Families in the West Virginia University community are invited to an afternoon of food, puppets, magic, crafts,and swimming at a free, family friendly event hosted by Parents in Medicine. The event, which is open to families of learners, faculty and staff throughout the Health Sciences Center and WVU Medicine community, will take place Sunday, October 18, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Mylan Park Aquatic Center.
Sigma Alpha Rho to host presentations as part of Founder's Week
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Alpha Rho Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau at WVU School of Nursing, a week full of events and activities are being hosted Oct. 19-23, 2026. The lineup includes two presentations, one by Dr. Lya Cartwright Strupe and one by Brad Davis.
Celebrate American Pharmacists Month with WVU student pharmacists
Each October, American Pharmacists Month, led by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), more than 700,000 pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student pharmacists. To raise public awareness of the essential role pharmacists play in improving public health and patient care, the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and its American Pharmacists Association–Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter have planned a month of activities aimed at sharing valuable health information and advocating for the profession.
