WVU undergraduate researchers showcase work for lawmakers in Charleston
Undergraduate researchers from West Virginia University showcased their work at the State Capitol in Charleston Friday (Feb. 18), giving lawmakers a glimpse of the work they do in disease-carrying insects, the weather’s effect on renewable energy resources and the economic potential of petunias—just a few of the topics addressed by 49 presenters from WVU’s Morgantown and Beckley campuses.
Kesem at WVU looking for camp counselors
Kesem @ WVU is currently recruiting counselors for its 2022 summer camp. The student-led organization is dedicated to providing support to children affected by a guardian's cancer. Children affected can attend a free week-long summer camp which to provides a fun, activity-filled week that allows the kids to be kids. This year's summer camp will be held June 6-10 at Emma Kaufmann Camp.

The 6th Annual "Champagne for SANEs (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners)" is set for Thursday, April 28 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Table 9 on the Wharf in Morgantown.
WVU student nurses join “Nurses Day at the Legislature”
Nurses were invited Feb. 10 to the West Virginia State Capitol to meet with legislators, attend committee meetings and get to know nursing policy leaders during “Nurses Day at the Capitol.” Several West Virginia University School of Nursing students attended the event, including Jenna Wermers and Ateria Walker, who are members of the WVU Student Nurses Association.

As new students begin working in the field, they are oftentimes hesitant to collaborate with their colleagues, as they don’t want to interfere with patient care. But working together can be an asset—both for co-workers and their patients.
Next week’s Academic Transformation Campus Conversation to focus on student success
The Office of the Provost will continue its monthly Campus Conversations focused on academic transformation topics and initiatives to engage the wider University community in dialogue about these efforts. The second session, “Academic Transformation: Student Success and Academic Advising,” is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m.
