WVU provides antigen self-test kits, reminder about travel safety ahead of Spring Break
In preparation for spring break (March 14-18), students and employees may pick up a free antigen self-test kit the week of March 7-11. Kits will be available in the Health Sciences Center Pylons Lobby from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

WVU researcher finds over-the-counter meds a ‘needle in the haystack’ of the larger pain pill epidemic
Drug misuse is not exclusive to the opioid epidemic, according to a recent West Virginia University study. Every year, about 50,000 people in the United States are admitted to the emergency room due to misuse of a common over-the-counter pain medication – acetaminophen.
Support for students affected by conflict
The WVU Health Sciences community includes students, faculty and staff with ties to various regions of the world. Events happening across the globe can bring about mixed emotions and affect our mental health and well-being. Conflict can have a traumatic impact on us, even when not physically present or directly involved. The BeWell team extends their support for students impacted by current and past unrest, and they are available to support students navigate unsettling times.
McCawley to speak to retirees on ‘Scam or Not: Air Pollution and Elderly Health’
Michael McCawley, Department of Occupational and Environmental Health, will speak to WVU retired faculty and staff on “Scam or Not: Air Pollution and the Health of the Elderly” followed by a Q&A session tomorrow (March 2) at 2:30 p.m. on Zoom.
