WVU School of Nursing departments team up to offer comfort, kindness to elderly residents
During the 2025 holiday season, the Office of Research and the Office of Community Engagement at the WVU School of Nursing partnered to bring comfort and kindness to elderly residents across West Virginia. In an effort that blended scholarship, compassion and creativity, the teams assembled customized care packages filled with practical items and warm messages of support for older adults. The effort was led by Dr. Ubolrat “Diu” Piamjariyakul, Associate Dean for Research, and Dr. Angel Smothers, Associate Dean for Community Engagement.

An electrical outage scheduled for Saturday, January 24 through Sunday, January 25, due to ongoing renovations in the School of Dentistry has been rescheduled.

Dr. Samuel Dorn retires as chair of endodontics at WVU School of Dentistry
Samuel Dorn, DDS, will retire from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry effective Jan. 16. Dr. Dorn has been a professor and chair of the Department of Endodontics for seven years, providing leadership, mentorship and service to students, faculty and patients.
Parking shuttle between WVU Innovation Corporation and Health Sciences Campus starts Wed., Jan. 21
New shuttle service will be offered to Health Sciences faculty and staff between the WVU Innovation Center and two stops at the Health Sciences Center starting Wed., Jan. 21, 2026.
