WVU Medicine hosts 2023 Safety, Quality and Experience Improvement Research Day

WVU Medicine will host its annual Safety, Quality and Experience Improvement Research Day on Thursday, May 18, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Health Sciences Center in Morgantown.

This all-day event will feature special guest speaker Ronald Wyatt, M.D., MHA. Dr. Wyatt is the Chief Science Officer for the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine and a senior fellow for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.  Wyatt has previously held several leadership roles in the field of medicine and is also the founder and CEO of Achieving Health Equity LLC. He will give a presentation titled “No Equity, No Safety or Quality – Measurement is Essential” in the Okey Patteson Auditorium at noon. Boxed lunches will be available outside of the auditorium prior to Wyatt’s presentation.

In addition to Wyatt’s presentation, the 2023 WVU Medicine Safety, Quality and Experience Improvement Research Day will also include poster presentations which will be reviewed by judges and conclude with a rewards ceremony. See the full agenda of the day’s events below:

  • 9 – 9:30 a.m. – Opening Remarks from Allison Suttle, M.D., MBA, FACOG, Chief Quality Officer, WVU Medicine & Michael Edmond, M.D., MPH, MPA, MBA, Chief Medical Officer, WVU Medicine – Okey Patteson Auditorium
  • 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. – Judges Round for Poster Presentations – Pylons Lobby
  • 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Posters Open to Public – Pylons Lobby
  • 12 – 1 p.m. – Special Guest Speaker Ronald Wyatt, M.D., MHA “No Equity, No Safety or Quality – Measurement is Essential” – Okey Patteson Auditorium
