WVU Medicine hosting Veterans Day brunch, ceremony

WVU Medicine employees who are veterans are invited to stop by a Veterans Day Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the Bruce McClymonds Conference Center located at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Small American flags are available for purchase at the Friends Gift Shop for $5. All purchased flags will be placed on the front lawn of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital on Veterans Day to honor veterans and active-duty military. Proceeds from flag sales will benefit an organization that supports veterans.

At noon, there will be a flag-raising ceremony by the WVU Air Force ROTC in front of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, which will include a prayer, moment of silence and flyover (weather permitting).

Friends Gift Shop, Starbucks and the Mountaineer, Medical Center and Discharge pharmacies will offer discounts on Veterans Day to those who are veterans or active-duty military.
