WVU employees to receive invitation, link for training module

At West Virginia University, we are guided by our Mountaineer Values of service, curiosity, respect, accountability and appreciation. Putting these values into action as we work with one another and our students is important as we strive to build and strengthen a strong, healthy and vibrant campus community.

You will soon receive an email from wvu@notify.wvu.edu with information and a link to the online training module “Discrimination & Harassment Prevention & Meridians.”

The module will cover several key topics designed to assist faculty and staff in building and maintaining a healthy campus community. For example, many employees are required to report issues like sexual harassment, discrimination, stalking, sexual assault and dating/domestic violence. This training will define how to make a report.

The training is currently taken by all employees new to WVU. While it is helpful that new employees receive the training, it also is important for all employees to remain current on the information. That is why we are now expanding the scope and requiring all WVU employees to complete the training.

This or similar training will be assigned annually moving forward related to WVU Board of Governors Rule 1.6 – Rule Regarding Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Domestic Misconduct, Stalking, Retaliation, and Relationships.

Supervisors will be notified of employees who don’t complete the module by the deadline of March 7. If an employee does not complete the course after the involvement of the supervisor, the issue will be referred to WVU Employee Relations.

Once you receive the invitation and link, send any questions to employeetraining@mail.wvu.edu.

FAQ and additional information are available at go.wvu.edu/discrimination-and-harassment-employee-training.

Thank you for engaging in this training as we all learn, grow and work together to better serve our students and each other here at West Virginia University.
