Reminder: Scholarships available for upcoming tobacco treatment training program
Through support from Mountains of Hope and the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, scholarships are available to cover the cost of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry Certified Tobacco Treatment Training Program scheduled for May 18-20 at the Health Sciences Center.
The University, Office of Interprofessional Education and Office of Continuing Education collaborate to offer evidence-based strategies to teach providers techniques to assist patients and clients with tobacco cessation.
The three-day course is open to physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, advanced practice nurses, nurses, dentists, dental hygienists, social workers, respiratory therapists, licensed practicing counselors, resident physicians and students.
Full course attendance is $660. To help alleviate the cost, potential attendees can apply for the scholarship opportunity by April 29, 2022. There are a limited number of scholarships and submissions are reviewed upon receipt. Applicants must provide a personal statement with their submission.
