Planned power outage Dec. 6 at Health Sciences Center

There will be a planned commercial power outage at the Health Sciences Center on Sunday, Dec. 6 from 7 – 10 a.m.

The planned power outage will allow routine maintenance and repairs to be made to the building’s substation and will affect the entire Health Sciences complex. This includes the north and south annex, Erma Byrd Biomedical Research Building, Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the first and second floors of the Cancer Institute.

In preparation for the house-wide power outage, please power off all computers and electrical devices in offices and labs prior to December 6. Employees working remotely using HSView.hsc.wvu.edu should also coordinate with their department to power on office and laboratory equipment after the outage. If you attempt to access your HSC office computer remotely using HSView.hsc.wvu.edu after the outage and receive an error message “Remote Desktop can’t connect to the remote computer…,” please arrange to have your computer powered back on through your department.
