New partnership provides opportunities for students, employees

The School of Public Health is pleased to begin a partnership with the Community Education Group (CEG) this semester. CEG is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization working to eliminate disparities in health outcomes and improve public health in disadvantaged populations and under-served communities.

The following are upcoming events and opportunities available to SPH students, faculty and staff:

  • “COVID-19 Preparedness in Rural America” will take place Tuesday, January 19 from 2-4 p.m. Join Dr. Deborah Birx, Coronavirus Task Force response coordinator, for a discussion about COVID-19 preparedness, vaccination and prevention in rural America. Featured public health expects include Dr. Clay Marsh and Greg Millett, MPH. Moderated by A. Toni Young. Register online. Download the flyer.
  • “Addressing Uncertainties with Confidence – Educational Track: Hepatitis C” will take place Thursday, January 21 from 2-3 p.m. Join Monica Lattimore for a discussion on how we can successfully eliminate Hepatitis C and close the gap in screening and linking patients to care.   • The Your Rural Health Needs Survey is designed to seek input from community members, organizations and healthcare providers on what the greatest public health needs are in their rural communities, what educational, training and technical assistance resources are needed to address these issues, what issues they have accessing essential services, and how communities are working to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine. Survey participants can enter to win one of eight Amazon Digital Gift Cards (One $500 gift card, two $250 gift cards, and five $100 gifts cards). Take the survey.
