Meet the Office of Advanced Practice Professionals Council

The Office of Advanced Practice Professionals (OAPP) Council is a group that meets regularly to design policies for consideration with WVU Medicine leadership, oversee advanced practice provider (APP)-specific directives and initiatives, create professional and scholarly opportunities for APPs, and provide voice and insight regarding salient business as it relates to this workforce across the Health System.

Among the duties of the OAPP:

  • Provides an advisory voice for the University Health Associates Board of Directors and other clinical/administrative leaders of the organization.
  • Maintains servant leadership of the APP workforce, acting as stewards of APP development, strategy, and excellence.

APPs are encouraged to get to know the OAPP Council members and to connect with them at any time. Each member is chosen through an application and interview process of their peers to represent the APPs regarding all salient APP-related business. The OAPP Council All OAPP sub-committees are each chaired or co-chaired by a council member.

There are two layers of council members – Professional Lead APPs and APP Seniors. The Professional Lead APPs include: Andrea Bailey, APRN; and Travis Randolph, PA-C. The APP Seniors include: Levi Wichterman, APRN, emergency medicine; John “Brandon” Arruda, APRN, urgent care and surgical service lines; Russell Mathews, APRN, pediatric service lines; Stacy Forst, PA-C, inpatient adult service lines; Rolando “Rolly” Garcia, PA-C, ambulatory adult service lines; and Katherine “Keely” Burnside, PA-C, obstetrics and gynecology, women’s health, labor and delivery service lines.
