Medicine Grand Rounds: Dr. Konrad to give presentation on surgical treatments for tremors

Peter Konrad, M.D., Ph.D., will give a presentation on surgical treatments for tremors during the Department of Medicine grand rounds on Friday, March 31, at 8 a.m.

Dr. Konrad is a professor and the chair of the Department of Neurosurgery and the director of integrative neurosciences and clinical innovation. His presentation is titled "Update on Surgical Treatment for Tremor." The presentation will be held online via Zoom.

The objectives of Konrad's presentation are to describe what region of the brain is most related to tremors, understand the difference between tremors associated with Parkinson's Disease versus an essential tremor, understand the basic difference between DBS and FUS or RFL treatments for tremors and to determine approximately how many people in the U.S. have essential tremors.
