Martinsburg prosthodontist receives alumni award

Dr. Bill Queen received a distinguished alumus award from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry alumni association. He was one of five recognized at alumni weekend March, 25, 2022.
Dr. Bill Queen is a native of Martinsburg, West Virginia and received his undergraduate education in engineering at Marshall University. He then went on for his pre-dental education at both the West Virginia Institute of Technology and Shepherd College.
Dr. Queen entered the WVU School of Dentistry in 1974, and after graduation from WVU, Bill went on to a post doctorate residency in Prosthodontics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he graduated in 1983.
Bill has been in private practice in Martinsburg for over 40 years but has also served as a faculty member at the WVU School of Dentistry for thirty years. During his illustrious career Bill has been extensively involved with the WVU School of Dentistry Alumni Association and has served multiple terms on the Board of Governors and served in its highest office as President in 2006-2007.
Dr. Queen has also been very involved in the community of Martinsburg and has served as President of the Regional Education Service Agency and also as President of the Berkeley County Board of Education. Bill has also been involved in athletics and has held the position of President of the Martinsburg Little League Association.
Bill has also been very involved in presenting continuing education programs in many different areas throughout West Virginia. Bill has also served as the graduation commencement speaker at the WVU School of Dentistry in 2006 and at the White Coat Ceremony in 2005.
Dr. Queen has been very involved in organized dentistry on the local level at the Eastern Panhandle Dental Society, on the state level in the West Virginia Dental Association, and on the National Level in the South Eastern Association of Prosthodontists and American Dental Association.
Among the many awards that he has received over the years, Bill graduated Summa Cum Laude from the WVU School of Dentistry, and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
