Fall 2022 PSCoR Opportunity

Message from Lana Yoho, director, HSC Pre/Post Grants Administration:

Good afternoon,

The WVU Research Office has released information for the Fall 2022 internal PSCoR funding opportunity.  PSCoR is an internal competitive program offered through the Research Office and provides funding for research that will leverage external funding opportunities.  Please note that this RFP is only for faculty who plan to resubmit a proposal that has not already been funded by a federal agency.

PSCoR proposals are required to be submitted by the School/College Dean’s office, they cannot be submitted directly by the PI.  I have coordinated with Dr. Sarah Woodrum and the SoPH Dean’s office will submit proposals to the Research Office by the due date on behalf of SoPH faculty.  For your convenience, I have attached the coversheet and RFP announcement for this opportunity above.  Additional information is available on the RO’s website at: https://research.wvu.edu/researchers/funding/internal-grants/pscor.

Specific questions regarding this funding opportunity should be directed to Sheena Murphy at Sheena.Murphy@mail.wvu.edu.

Please submit completed proposals for consideration from School of Public Health faculty to Carmen Bowes (cbowes@hsc.wvu.edu) no later than close of business on Thursday April 28, 2022 to allow Dr. Sarah Woodrum time to review and submit proposals prior to the requested deadline from the Research Office.

Additionally, Dr. Berrebi asked that I share the following information as he would like to encourage all eligible faculty to take advantage of this internal funding mechanism. Faculty are encouraged to seek PSCoR support under this mechanism.  The application is straightforward, and decisions are made quickly.  In addition, HSC faculty have received PSCoR funding in recent years, and this support enabled them to improve the competitiveness of their extramural proposal.  Moreover, applying for PSCoR support, whether one is successful or not, is viewed positively if HSC bridge funding for the same project is requested at a later date.

Please share this information broadly with your colleagues.
