The election's impact on healthcare: Join the School of Public Health Administrative Grand Rounds for expert analysis on what’s ahead
West Virginia University School of Public Health Master of Health Administration program and WVU Graduate Chapter of Upsilon Phi Delta will host a virtual Administrative Grand Rounds titled “Impact of the Election on Healthcare Issues” on Friday, Nov. 15, from noon to 1 p.m. ET.
Moderated by Sarah Woodrum, DrPH, FACHE, co-interim dean and senior associate dean for the WVU School of Public Health, this expert panel, featuring Danielle Waltz and Tony Gregory, will explore the impact of the state and national election on healthcare issues.
The event is free and registration is required.
As an independent chartered chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the West Virginia ACHE Chapter, is authorized to award a total of 1.0 hours of ACHE Qualifying Education credits toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program who wish to have it considered for ACHE Qualifying Education credit should list their attendance when they apply to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.
About the Panelists
Danielle Waltz | Assistant Vice President of Government Affairs and Associate General Counsel, WVU Medicine Health System
Danielle M. Waltz serves as assistant vice president of government affairs and associate general counsel for the West Virginia University Health System. Before being named to this position in August 2024, Waltz served as a skilled litigator and government relations practitioner at Dinsmore, a leading national law firm based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Her legal expertise spans a wide range of areas, and her leadership and accomplishments in the legal profession are further punctuated by her published works and speaking engagements focusing on both legal and government relations matters.
Waltz was elected as national director for DRI, the largest association of civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel, where she has held numerous leadership positions. She is also a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel.
A West Virginia native, Waltz is a two-time graduate of WVU, where she earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a law degree.
Tony Gregory | Vice President of Legislative Affairs, West Virginia Hospital Association
With nearly 30 years of experience working in the state legislative process, Tony Gregory currently serves as vice president of legislative affairs for the West Virginia Hospital Association where he is responsible for managing the association’s advocacy activities with the West Virginia Legislature and state government.
Gregory manages the West Virginia Hospital Association’s Political Action Committee, which is one of the largest health, business and trade association PACs in West Virginia, and oversees the association’s communications department helping to coordinate media relations in support of the WVHA’s policy priorities.
Before joining WVHA, Gregory served as leadership assistant in the West Virginia Legislature for the Speaker of the House of Delegates and the House leadership team and worked in the Legislature’s Information Office.
Gregory earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Charleston and a Master of Arts in journalism from Marshall University.
Sarah Woodrum, DrPH, FACHE (Moderator) | Interim Dean, School of Public Health, West Virginia University
Sarah Woodrum, DrPH, FACHE, serves as the senior associate dean for administration at the West Virginia University School of Public Health in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she oversees the day-to-day and strategic administration and operations. She leads projects and programs in direct consultation with University leadership, participates in policy development and problem resolution, and provides administrative oversight and direction to the school’s areas of finance, research, information technology, development, marketing, communications, and talent and culture. Woodrum teaches leadership courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in the Department of Health Policy, Management and Leadership.
She is also a WVU liaison with many community organizations. Some notable leadership positions on prominent community boards include the Morgantown Area Partnership (chair, 2020 and 2023), United Way of Mon and Preston County (president, 2024-2025), Rotary Club of Morgantown (president, 2020-2021) and current assistant district governor for Rotary District 7545. She is also a board member for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and the Monongalia County Child Advocacy Center. Woodrum has been an interim dean for the WVU School of Public Health since March 2020. She has more than three decades of healthcare management and strategic operations experience.
