Dr. Judie Charlton to step down as CMO
Judie Charlton, MD, WVU Medicine chief medical officer, has announced her plans to step down from that position.

“It has been my privilege and honor to serve you in this role since 2010. I am grateful for your partnership in serving my home state, and together we have accomplished things that I never dreamed could be possible,” she said in a letter to UHA faculty and staff. “I especially want to thank you for supporting me during this time as I needed to learn many new things along the way!”
Dr. Charlton’s transition will be gradual. The UHA board will convene later this month to determine how it will proceed in selecting her successor. Charlton has offered to stay in place during this time and to ensure that the new CMO will transition smoothly into the role.
Updates about the search process will be made as it unfolds.
