Dental school's online tool for giving gets new look

Features added to improve navigation experience for donors

The WVU Foundation continues to enhance and refine the “Giving” platform to provide improved efficiencies for donors.

Supporters of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry will be able to review all existing funds and scholarships, find direct links to funds of interest and be able to give to a specific department of choice.

TO BEGIN BROWSING

The best place to begin is the School of Dentistry Give landing page. By clicking “Donate Now”, browsers will be taken directly to the primary give page. Note the red arrows showing browsers the landing page url and the “Donate Now” button.

Browsers can scroll through a full list of School of Dentistry giving opportunities on this primary GIVE WVU page.

Note the red arrow at the top of the page for the url. A second red arrow points out where browsers can scroll through more than 100 options for giving listed alphabetically.

FIND A SPECIFIC FUND

Donors who know the specific fund they would like to support can begin typing the name of the fund or keyword in the fund into the box “What would you like your donation to support?” on this primary GIVE WVU page. For instance, the Department of Endodontics has the C. Russell Jackson Faculty and Student Development fund. By typing in “Russ”, the fund was identified.

ADDITIONAL ENHANCED FEATURES

Enhanced features of the improved site include:

  • Donor can immediately make a gift of support in honor of or in memory of someone.
    • If the donor wishes, a message can be sent to a recipient advising them of the donation made.
  • Donor can immediately note that the gift of support should remain anonymous.
  • Payment methods including PayPal, Venmo, and bank transfer in addition to credit card payments.
  • Donors can elect to make the gift a recurring gift, can select the frequency, and can choose the recurring amount.

COMING SOON

The Foundation is working on enhancing the various individual department pages with pictures, quotes and other features custom to each department. For those departments with additional demand funds or endowments restricted to departmental use, supporters will be able to search in the drop-down box for specific funds by name.
