Academic Affairs accepting fellowship applications
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2022-23 academic year to work under the mentorship of the associate vice president for Health Sciences Academic Affairs. The fellowship will provide the opportunity to participate in special projects, committee service and other activities involved in faculty affairs for WVU Health Sciences. These activities will include participation in the annual review, promotion and tenure process, faculty rewards and initiatives to support faculty with an emphasis on continuous quality improvement.
The FTE for this position will be .40. Faculty members who are at or above the associate professor level and interested in academic administration are encouraged to apply. To apply, interested faculty should address a letter of interest to Associate Vice President for Health Sciences Academic Affairs Louise Veselicky and submit it to Senior Executive Assistant Jane Lightfoot. Please include a current CV and a letter of support from your department chair and/or immediate supervisor. The application should also include a brief statement of endorsement from the applicant’s dean, unless the dean is the applicant’s immediate supervisor, in which case, only one statement of endorsement is required.

The fellow will split appointments during their time in the program with 40 percent of their FTE dedicated to the fellowship and 60 percent of the FTE dedicated to the home unit/school. Health Sciences central will support the unit to compensate for costs associated with the work effort lost by the department/school during the fellowship appointment.
The fellowship will be for 12 months. Start and end dates will follow the July 1 to June 30 calendar as close as possible.
