Note from Dr. Clay Marsh about commencement ceremonies

Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic that has affected the operations of the University, WVU announced yesterday that we will be holding a "virtual commencement experience" entitled Mountaineer Graduation Day on May 16. The event will include ways for graduates to share their celebration with classmates, family and friends, as well as special moments to connect them with the University. More information will be shared soon with candidates and their families.

The University will also hold a special in-person commencement ceremony for all May graduates on Saturday, Dec. 19 to recognize and celebrate their achievements. Details will be forthcoming.

We understand that certain Health Sciences programs may have additional accreditation and licensing board requirements to graduate. We will work with those programs and students to minimize the effects of this.

Our 2020 graduates are a special class! They will grow and learn from this experience and allow it to shape them into passionate, committed and talented healthcare providers of the future.

Together as Mountaineers, we will face the challenges before us with dedication and determination. In these unprecedented times, I ask that our Health Sciences community be patient as we work through the details of creating an experience that is worthy of our students' accomplishments.
