WV KIDS COUNT to release report on wellbeing of children and families in West Virginia
WV KIDS COUNT, in partnership with WVU Medicine Children’s and the WVU Rockefeller School of Public Policy and Politics, will hold an event on April 23 at noon at the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute’s Bruce McClymonds Conference Center to release the second in a series of six issue briefs on the wellbeing of children and families in West Virginia.
Team Science: Facilitating Collaboration and Research
WVCTSI will host the third installment of the seminar series highlighting team science. During “Team Science: Facilitating Collaboration and Research,” Darshana Shah, Ph.D., professor and associate dean of faculty affairs and professional development at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, will instruct attendees how to conduct more effective collaborative research by examining barriers and challenges to successful collaboration, and ways to overcome them. The first two team science seminars presented by Shah can be viewed anytime on the WVCTSI YouTube channel.
Clinical Trial Data: Good Documentation Practices
WVCTSI will begin a new four-part Clinical and Translational Research Seminar Series focusing on clinical trials. During the first installment in this new series, Tanya Moran, MS, WVCTSI senior quality assurance and auditing manager, and Shelley Welch, RN, MSHS, CCRC, WVCTSI clinical research services manager, will present “Clinical Trial Data: Good Documentation Practices.”

Zuan-Fu Lim wins Rising Star Award
Zuan-Fu Lim, a cancer cell biology graduate student in Patrick Ma’s lab at the WVU Cancer Institute, has won a Rising Star Award from the WVU Health Sciences Center Office of Research and Graduate Education. The award recognizes outstanding graduate students and faculty at the Health Sciences Center. Earlier this year, Lim’s lung cancer research earned him an American Association of Immunologists Young Investigator Award for his first place oral presentation at the 21st annual meeting of the Translational Research Cancer Centers Consortium at Seven Springs, PA.
