Campo to discuss suicide prevention at Festival of Ideas series
This season’s Festival of Ideas at WVU kicks off on Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. at the Health Sciences Center's Okey Patteson auditorium. Dr. John Campo will present "Suicide Prevention Across the Lifespan and the Rural-Urban Continuum."
WVU researcher works to improve access to depression care in rural areas
WVU researcher Robert Bossarte has received a $13.3-million award from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute to compare three treatment strategies for rural depressed patients: antidepressants alone; antidepressants combined with unguided cognitive behavior therapy provided online; and antidepressants combined with guided online cognitive behavior therapy.

Gillison to present Annual DeLynn Lecture
The WVU Cancer Institute will hold its Annual DeLynn Lecture with Maura L. Gillison, MD, PhD, who will lecture on HPV and the Host Genome, at 4 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 4, in the WVU Health Sciences Center's Fukushima Auditorium (room 1901). A Q&A session will follow the lecture. The event is free and open to the public. For those who cannot attend, the event also will be webcast.
