West Virginia University School of Medicine faculty can now register to attend the M.D., Ph.D. and research-based masters commencement ceremony on Friday, May 12 at 7 p.m. at the Canady Creative Arts Center.
Kidd receives highest research honor from Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine
Kacie Kidd, M.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics and medical director for WVU Medicine Children’s Gender and Sexual Development Clinic, recently was awarded the Charles E. Irwin, Jr. New Investigator Award by the Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine at the organization’s annual meeting that took place in early March in Chicago.
2023 Excellence in Community Engagement Award Winners announced
The Center for Community Engagement’s annual Excellence in Community Engagement Awards honor extraordinary accomplishments in engaged learning and community impact. This year's recipients include Hayley Harman, a student in the School of Medicine, and Angel Smothers, a faculty member in the School of Nursing.

Celebration of Life Honoring Ronald L. Cleavenger, M.D.
Ronald L. Cleavenger, M.D., an alum of the West Virginia University School of Medicine and former physician for WVU Student Health and Department of Family Medicine, passed away December 13, 2022 in Charleston, South Carolina at the age of 77.
