WVU Public Health students named Milken Institute Future Health Leaders
Three WVU Public Health students have joined have joined nine others from top institutions to work with leading organizations on current public health issues affecting our communities.
Gillison to present Annual DeLynn Lecture
The WVU Cancer Institute will hold its Annual DeLynn Lecture with Maura L. Gillison, MD, PhD, who will lecture on HPV and the Host Genome, at 4 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 4, in the WVU Health Sciences Center's Fukushima Auditorium (room 1901). A Q&A session will follow the lecture. The event is free and open to the public. For those who cannot attend, the event also will be webcast.
Immigration information session to be held at the Health Sciences Campus
The Office of Global Affairs will hold an immigration information session on at the WVU Health Sciences Center on Wed., Sept. 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Room 1905 Health Sciences North.

A recent study co-authored by Bernard Schreurs, Ph.D., professor at the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, and his colleagues studied the changes in the properties of neurons and membranes as a response to learning.

Nicholas Castle, B.Sc. (Hons) M.H.A., Ph.D., FGSA, will join the WVU School of Public Health as chair of the Department of Health Policy, Management and Leadership on December 31, 2018.
Panagakos named associate dean of research in the School of Dentistry
Fotinos Panagakos, D.M.D, Ph.D., MA, MBA, was recently named associate dean of research in the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. The new lead of the Department of Dental Research has interest in focusing on the effects improved oral health can have on chronic diseases including diabetes, heart disease and dementia.
