WVU School of Dentistry takes tobacco cessation efforts on the road
During the recent 2019 West Virginia legislative session, Senate Bill 348 was voted down in the House Health Committee. The bill would have raised the legal age to use tobacco in West Virginia to 21. At the WVU School of Dentistry, faculty responds.
WVU in the News: WVU Medicine hosts grand opening for Center for Hope and Healing
WVU Medicine and the WVU Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry held a grand opening on Mar. 1 for the new WVU Medicine Center for Hope and Healing. The 29,305-square-foot addiction treatment facility offers 12 beds for subacute medically managed withdrawal residential care and 30 beds for residential care up to 28 days.

WVU researchers pursue blood test for colorectal cancer

Congratulations to Dr. Aaron Cumpston (PharmD, 2001). Cumpston earned the 2019 "Excellence in Advocacy Award" from the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT) Pharmacy Special Interest Group (SIG). The national award is presented to members who have made a significant impact on the field of pharmacy in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation through patient or practice advocacy. Campus Conversation at WVU Health Sciences Center: House Bill 2519 “campus carry”
West Virginia University faculty, staff and students are invited to join an open conversation Thursday (Feb. 28) at noon at the Okey Patteson Auditorium at the Health Sciences Center on House Bill 2519, which commonly is referred to as “campus carry.” The bill currently is making its way through the West Virginia Legislature and would permit concealed weapons to be carried in designated areas on campus by concealed weapons license holders.
