Future Green Berets to receive medical training at WVU Medicine

WVU Medicine has formed a new partnership with the U.S. Army Special Forces, also known as the Green Berets, to be the first academic medical center in the country to host clinical rotations for soldiers training to become Special Forces Medical Sergeants.

Dr. Sanford Emery named president of the American Orthopaedic Association

Sanford Emery, M.D., M.B.A., WVU Medicine orthopaedic surgeon, chair of the West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedics, and interim chair of the Department of Surgery, will be installed as the 129th president of the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) at the organization’s Annual Meeting June 22-25 in Seattle.

Free dirt therapy available at WVU’s Health Sciences Center

Several medical students gathered on the north side of the Health Sciences Center in late May to fill three wood crafted garden boxes, compliments of WVU Facilities Management, with plants such as tomatoes, arugula, Swiss chard, lettuce, peas and cucumbers.
