Medical student shows the perks of coffee roasting

just so happens that the School of Medicine has its own coffee connoisseur. Second-year medical student, Jeffrey Cannon, will be demonstrating some exotic roasting techniques and specialty coffees during WVU’s Diversity Week activities on Wed., Oct. 12, 10 – 11 a.m. in Fukushima Lobby. On your way to class, stop by and sample some of his favorites from around the world.

School of Medicine seeks director for the Office of Interprofessional Education

The School of Medicine is seeking a director for the Office of Interprofessional Education. This position will be a WVU Health Sciences Center faculty appointment and require five years of experience in curriculum planning and implementation, some experience developing and implementing inter-professional education programs, a record of scholarly accomplishment and at least a master’s degree; doctoral degree preferred.

WVU’s food bank to open second location, The Rack II@HSC

West Virginia University Health Sciences will soon open “The Rack II@HSC,” WVU Health Sciences’ Campus Food Bank, to assist with campus-wide efforts to address the growing population of homeless and/or hungry employees/students.    

WVU Heart and Vascular Institute adds seven new physicians

With the opening of its new home – the 10-story tower attached to WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital – just three months away, the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute is expanding its roster of experts to meet the ever-increasing demand for its services. Mohamad Alkhouli, M.D., Walid Gharib, M.D., Takashi Murashita, M.D., Sameer Raina, M.D., J. Scott Rankin, M.D., Bryan Raybuck, M.D., and Donald Siddoway, M.D., all joined the faculty this summer.
