Students: Get vaccinated against COVID-19

COVID-19 has turned our world upside-down and limited many treasured parts of the West Virginia University experience. Safe, effective COVID vaccines are a game-changer, and these vaccines are now available to all West Virginia residents age 16 and older, as well as to all students attending classes within the West Virginia University system.

Academic and Student Affairs welcomes Gretchen Peterec

The School of Public Health recently welcomed Gretchen Peterec as its newest team member. Peterec joined the Office of Academic and Student Affairs (OASA) on March 29. In her role as a program assistant, she will provide primary administrative program support to Senior Associate Dean Linda Alexander. Additionally, she will help support and advance OASA’s programmatic goals, including its Strategic Priorities.

Under the Dome: April 6, 2021 Edition

Under the Dome delivers a review of the issues being considered by the 85th Legislature of West Virginia. It provides information on matters that affect WVU and higher education. This edition provides an update on the budget, the personal income tax reduction plan, the soft drinks tax and other issues, including several high-profile bills being debated as the Legislature heads into the final week of regular session.

WVU to hold four in-person commencement ceremonies in May

West Virginia University graduates will return to in-person commencement ceremonies this May; and although some restrictions will be in place because of COVID-19, the celebrations will be no less memorable for the 4,499 who walk across the stage to receive their diplomas. Graduates from May, August and December 2020 are also eligible to participate in the exercises.
