Health in West Virginia: The Next 150 Years

West Virginia University President E. Gordon Gee will join Health Sciences Vice President and Executive Dean Clay Marsh, M.D., and WVU Medicine-WVU Hospitals President and CEO Albert L. Wright Jr., at a Health Sciences Town Hall on Wed., March 28 at noon in Okey Patteson Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

School of Medicine faculty publish resident wellbeing research in national journal

Resident physician wellness and prevention of burnout has become an area of concern and considerable research. In 2015, an estimated 29 percent of physicians in training showed signs of depression or depressive symptoms. An increased rate of suicide for physicians in practice, compared with the general population, was also detected.

Zuan-Fu Lim wins young investigator award for his cancer research

Zuan-Fu Lim, a cancer cell biology graduate student in Patrick Ma’s lab at the WVU Cancer Institute, has received an American Association of Immunologists Young Investigator Award for his first place oral presentation at the 21st annual meeting of the Translational Research Cancer Centers Consortium at Seven Springs, PA.
