WVU School of Medicine offers new cytopathology fellowship

The West Virginia University School of Medicine announced recently that accreditation was granted for a new fellowship program in cytopathology, the only such fellowship in the state. The fellowship is a one-year program that accepts one fellow per year, and is currently recruiting for a fellow to start in July 2018.

The West Virginia University School of Medicine announced recently that accreditation was granted for a new fellowship program in rheumatology. The fellowship is the only one in the state, and recruitment for the position starts in fall 2018 with an official start day on July 1, 2019.

COMMUNITY PRACTICE Michael Moorehead, MD and Malcolm Louden, MD are new WVU Medicine faculty in the Division of Community Practice at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. The two neurologists were both formerly with Parkersburg Neurological Associates. EMERGENCY MEDICINE John Fischer, DO joins the Department of Emergency Medicine at Grant Memorial Hospital. He formerly practiced at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

Healthcare's role in promoting good nutrition discussion set for March 20

Of the Mindful Physician and Culinary Medicine Interest Group will present "Healthcare's role in promoting good nutrition in the context of West Virginia" on Tuesday, March 20, 5:00-6:30 p.m., in HSC-N 2118. Speakers include WVU School of Public Health faculty member Dr. Ranjita Misra, WVU Extension Services Specialist Elaine Bowen, and West Virginia SNAP-Ed Directory Kristen McCartney.
