FSAP Support Squad Book Club: "Grit" begins Oct. 15
Faculty and staff are invited to join the WVU Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) book club to discuss Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth every Thursday at 4 p.m., beginning Oct. 15 through Nov. 19 on Zoom.

Three nursing faculty earn ACUE certification
Three WVU School of Nursing faculty have earned their Certification in Effective Teaching from the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). Mike Bellisario, Kelly Lemon, and Dr. Mohammed Quazi successfully completed their requirements for the certification in July.

Damron receives continued funding for pertussis research
Heath Damron, professor and director of the Vaccine Development Center in the West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Virology and director of the MD-PhD Program in the Health Science Center Department of Research and Graduate Education, has received notification of R56 award funding for the research project “Development of therapies against pertussis.”
Lockman receives continued funding for Tumor Microenvironment research
Paul Lockman, Ph.D., BSN, assistant vice president of Experimental Therapeutics in the West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Pharmacology and Benedum Fellow and the Mylan Endowed Chair professor in the School of Pharmacy, has received notification of continued funding for the research project “Tumor Microenvironment-TME CoBRE.”
