Faculty Senate Inclusion and Diversity Committee to host social justice summit

The WVU Faculty Senate Inclusion and Diversity Committee is initiating the first in a series of summits to address racism and racial injustice. The summit will be held virtually from 2-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, and 11 a.m -1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17.

WVU receives $1.2 million telehealth grant to connect rural ERs with medical specialists

West Virginia University researcher Scott Findley has received a $1.2 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration—a division of the Department of Health and Human Services—to bring telehealth capabilities to rural emergency departments across West Virginia.

Across the nation, many individuals who identify as transgender or gender diverse avoid accessing health care, even basic primary care, because of fear of discrimination or mistreatment — but WVU Medicine is implementing a number of strategies to improve care for this patient population.
