Dental clinic at WVU to participate in Give Kids a Smile effort

Annually, dentists across the nation participate in Give Kids A Smile®, an ADA program that helps underserved children receive the oral health care they need. WVU Dental clinics and the dental school will participate by offering free educational and preventive services to children from low-income families on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Charleston YWCA recognizes WVU dental school alumna

The Charleston, W.Va. YWCA named Dr. Jacqueline Stump, a 2012 graduate of West Virginia University School of Dentistry, a "Woman to Watch". She joins four other women who will be recognized Friday, Feb. 25 at the 2022 YWCA Charleston Women of Achievement awards ceremony at Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. 

Grant allows for closer evaluation of adult dental Medicaid benefits in WV

Dr. Fotinos Panagakos, Associate Dean for Research at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, was awarded a grant from the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health to evaluate the implementation and impact of the adult dental Medicaid benefit in West Virginia. Dr. Panagakos is joined by co-investigators Drs. Kole Reddig, Jane Ruseski, and Daniel Grossman, all faculty in the Department of Economics, at the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, and Dr. Shyama Mahakalanda, Director of Health Analytics in the Office of Health Affairs on this important project.
