Health Sciences community invited to retirement reception for Carol Smith

Carol Smith, long-time executive recruiter in the WVU health sciences vice president's office, will be retiring after 24 years with the University. Carol spent eight years working in administration at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital before joining the health sciences vice president's administrative team.

The WV Center for End-of-Life Care is in the midst of some financing challenges, but it’s still operational and provides direction as to how West Virginians want their wishes respected and pain controlled near the end of life. Dr. Alvin Moss of the WVU Health Sciences Center is the founder of the End-of-Life Center, and he explains how important advanced directives are for families and health care providers.

Mullett to lead Department of Pediatrics

Charles Mullett, M.D., Ph.D., has been named chair of West Virginia University’s Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Mullett has served in the position on an interim basis since 2016.
