West Virginia University students, faculty and community members gathered Feb. 26 for the third annual Heart Health and Black History Month Panel, a student-led event focused on wellness, health care challenges and community engagement.
Beckley Campus junior nursing students participate in Day of Service at Salvation Army
WVU School of Nursing Beckley Campus junior students recently volunteered during a Day of Service with the Salvation Army. The students dedicated their time and skills to assist with various initiatives, including distributing food, organizing donations, and engaging with community members in need.

Making a difference while serving her country: Senior nursing student to join U.S. Navy after graduation
Victoria Weser, a senior at the WVU School of Nursing, always knew she wanted to help people, but college wasn’t initially part of her plan. “The plan was to become an EMT or a 911 operator,” said Weser, of Wexford, Pennsylvania. “My godmother has been a nurse for 40-plus years, and she asked, ‘Why don’t you give it a shot?’”
