HSC Network Maintenance Scheduled for 5th floor HSS - March 31
HSC Information Technology Services will perform maintenance on the HSC Network on Sunday, March 31th, between 9 – 10 p.m. affecting offices/ labs/ conference rooms located on the 5th floor of Health Sciences South. During the maintenance window, the network and telecom equipment that services this area will be replaced causing a disruption in services in this area.
School of Medicine student wins Pat Fedeles Award for Compassion
The winner of the annual Patricia “Pat” Fedeles Award for Compassion in Physical Diagnosis was presented to Sundus Lateef on March 19, 2019. This award is presented to the second year medical student who portrays ongoing compassion, friendliness, and an overall caring attitude toward patients, peers, faculty and staff.

Community-engaged research seminar scheduled for April 12
WVCTSI’s Clinical and Translational Research Seminar Series will host its final sessions focusing on effectively engaging the community in a research agenda. Sally Hodder, M.D., WVCTSI director and associate vice president for clinical and translational science at WV, will present, “Strategies for Developing and Engaging a Successful Community Advisory Board.”
WVU’s HAPI Project/Healthy Start Program receives $5.47 million for next five years
The West Virginia Healthy Start/Helping Appalachian Parents and Infants Project received a total of $5.47 in continued federal funding for the next five years through the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Healthy Start Initiative: Eliminating Disparities in Perinatal Health.
