Osborne selected for School of Medicine, Reed College of Media’s Remote Internship Program
Devyn Osborne, a rising senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in journalism at West Virginia University's Reed College of Media, was selected to work as a “virtual” summer intern with the School of Medicine through the Remote Internship Support Program. The program includes an internship with an employee partner to offer applicable, relevant experience in addition to a stipend funded by Reed College donors.
Health Sciences classroom restrictions and in-person meetings
During the summer semester, the use of all Health Sciences (HSC) classrooms will be restricted to ONLY essential academic activities that cannot be held online (i.e. gross anatomy lab, simulation lab, etc.) and that are necessary to ensure the progression of our students.
Parking, shuttle service modified as employees return
Beginning Tuesday, May 26, the Research Park lot will re-open and parking and shuttle service at the Research lot, Willowdale garage, and lot J82 will be modified to accommodate the return of additional employees. View the shuttle schedule here.
WVU researcher to discuss important role of rehabilitative services for cancer patients
In the next 10 years, it is estimated that nearly seven percent of the United States population will be cancer survivors, which translates to more than 21 million people. One West Virginia University researcher will share how preventative measures like rehabilitative services can play a critical role in improving their quality of life.

WVCTSI has learned that some units have advised that WVCTSI requires chair or institute director approval before seeking services. This is not true – faculty seeking services may either enter service requests in the iLab system OR contact Meghan Reeves at mreeves1@hsc.wvu.edu for direction.

Clay Marsh to resume Health Sciences leadership role
At the end of March, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice named Clay Marsh, MD, the state’s COVID-19/Coronavirus Czar. While Marsh will continue his work with the state, in June he will begin to transition back into his position as WVU's vice president and executive dean for Health Sciences. Moving forward, Marsh will continue to provide his invaluable insight and guidance as West Virginia slowly reopens and as the University plans for the return of students in the fall.
