WVU, CDC report week 6 results for 'MASCUP!'

The West Virginia University School of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported observation results for the sixth week of 'MASCUP!', an ongoing mask observation study.

Powers returns to WVU Division of Occupational Therapy

Brandon "Seth" Powers, MOT, OTR/L, CHT returns to West Virginia University to join the faculty within the Division of Occupational Therapy. Powers brings over twelve years of experience as an occupational therapist with nine years of experience in outpatient orthopedic practice. Earning the credential of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2014, Powers has demonstrated advanced clinical skills and theory in rehabilitation of the upper extremity. His professional passions include mentoring new therapists and providing clinical education.

School of Medicine seeks Academic Affairs Faculty Fellow

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2021-22 academic year to work under the mentorship of the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and the AVP for Academic Affairs. The fellowship will include participation in the annual review, promotion and tenure process, faculty rank review, participation in reviewing faculty guidelines (i.e., policies and procedures), strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, and LCME accreditation.

Biochemistry Professor Publishes Textbook on Anoikis

Steven M. Frisch, Ph.D., Professor in the Biochemistry Department and WVU Cancer Institute at WVU School of Medicine, is the Editor of a new textbook called "Anoikis: How the extracellular matrix regulates life-or-death decisions" (Springer Publications, London).
