WVU Medicine to begin relaxing visitation restrictions
WVU Medicine has begun relaxing the visitation restrictions that were put into place at its hospitals and clinics as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The policy, effective Monday, July 19, is in place to ensure the health and safety of patients, visitors, vendors, students, volunteers, and healthcare providers by employing strategies to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on WVU Medicine properties.
Edward Nemergut, M.D., named Chair of Anesthesiology
The Department of Anesthesiology has named Edward Nemergut, M.D., as the new department chair, effective October 18, 2021.
WVU School of Medicine to host "Smoothie Saturday Demos and Tastings" at Ranson Community Gardens
The West Virginia University School of Medicine has partnered with the Ranson Community Gardens in Ranson, WV to put on free monthly cooking demonstrations from May to October. The cooking event demonstration for July is titled “Smoothie Saturday Demos and Tastings.”
Dr. Tony Realini has research paper accepted for publication in American Journal of Ophthalmology
A research paper describing the beneficial effects of glaucoma laser therapy on patients in the Caribbean written by West Virginia University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Clinical Research Director Tony Realini, MD, MPH, was recently accepted for publication in the American Journal of Ophthalmology.
