Faculty bylaw updates presented at the Spring Faculty Meeting
The School of Medicine Spring Faculty Meeting will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 12 p.m. till approximately 1:30 p.m. via Zoom meeting. Your attendance is important as the School of Medicine faculty will approve the Class of 2022 graduates of the M.D. and Professional Programs.
Section of Cardiology fellows win American College of Cardiology FIT Jeopardy competition
Section of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine fellows Moinuddin Syed, M.D., Pratik Agrawal, M.D., and Sean Regner, M.D., recently won the American College of Cardiology “Fellows-in-Training Jeopardy Competition: Battle of the Chapters” at the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Session & Expo 2022 in Washington, D.C.
West Virginia Rural Health Association extends call for proposals
The West Virginia Rural Health Association annual conference will be held October 19-21, 2022, in Lewisburg, West Virginia. The call for presentation proposals has been extended to April 29, 2022.

Sebastian Dziadowicz, a Ph.D. candidate in the West Virginia University School of Medicine Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis Graduate Program in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology, was recently selected as a presenting author for the annual Experimental Biology meeting, where he gave a presentation on multiple myeloma.
WVU+kc Award system now provides researchers more detailed and accurate data, Q&A session offered Wednesday
The WVU+kc Award module, upgraded over the weekend, now provides the WVU research community more accurate data that is easier to report on and capable of integrating with other Kuali modules. The upgrade corrected a problem that was resulting in duplicate records.

Faculty and staff are often in an ideal position to recognize when someone is struggling emotionally and may need help. Kognito’s At-Risk Mental Health for Faculty and Staff is an online simulation that lets you practice conversations with a virtual student, so you’ll know what to say in real life.
GradFest: A week-long celebration for the Class of 2022
Before the Class of 2022 prepares to take their final exams, West Virginia University invites all upcoming graduates to celebrate their accomplishments during GradFest, a week of in-person events taking place April 18-24. The variety of GradFest events will provide soon-to-be WVU graduates with the chance to commemorate their college experience.
