WVU Health System mask requirement updates
Beginning Tuesday, March 15, WVU Health System will relax its masking requirement for vaccinated employees in non-patient and non-public areas. This applies only to fully vaccinated employees. If you have received an exemption from getting the COVID vaccine, you must wear an N95 respirator per the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regulations. Visitors will continue to be required to wear masks.
Tobacco Treatment Training Program accepting scholarship applications, registration
West Virginia University School of Dentistry, in cooperation with the Office of Interprofessional Education and Office of Continuing Education, will present a certified Tobacco Treatment Training Program opportunity May 18-20, 2022, at the WVU Health Sciences Center.

Graduating students invited to register for Multicultural Graduation Celebration
The West Virginia University Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Multicultural Graduation Celebration ceremony intentionally highlights and honors culture and celebrates diversity. This ceremony is open to WVU students graduating in spring, summer or fall 2022.
WVRHC to host ‘Engaging the Queer Feminist Archive’ discussion
The histories of traditionally marginalized groups have long gone unrepresented in archives. As part of its effort to reduce that disparity, the West Virginia & Regional History Center will host researcher and author Susan Ferentinos to discuss how to better represent LGBTQ+ communities in archival collections. This hybrid event will take place March 31 from 3-4 p.m. in the Milano Room in WVU’s Downtown Library and on Zoom.
STAR, related systems will be down Sunday for important updates
Banner (STAR) and STAR-related applications will be unavailable until 6 p.m. Sunday, March 13, for important updates that require more time than our normal maintenance window allows. This will affect the Banner self-service app (star.wvu.edu), Banner administrative forms (STAR INB), Banner Document Management, Banner Operational Data Store and Degree Works.
Mountaineer Station parking garage closed next week
Beginning Monday, March 14, the roadway near the Mountaineer Station parking garage will undergo paving. In order to complete this paving project, the parking garage will be closed from Saturday, March 12, through Sunday, March 20.
WVU postponing March 16 pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Mountainlair
Due to anticipated decreased demand as a result of spring break next week, West Virginia University and the Monongalia County Health Department have decided to postpone the pop-up COVID-19 vaccine at the Mountainlair originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 16.
WVU’s fifth Day of Giving sets new records for dollars raised, gifts received
Supporters of West Virginia University donated a record $15.5 million Wednesday (March 9) during the University’s fifth Day of Giving, a 24-hour online fundraising event held across the University system. More than 5,600 gifts were made, also a new record. The $15.5 million figure tops 2021’s WVU Day of Giving record of $11.9 million raised from just over 5,000 gifts.
Under the Dome: March 8, 2022 Edition
Under the Dome delivers a review of issues being considered by the West Virginia Legislature. It provides information on matters that affect WVU and higher education, as well as other hot topics being addressed. This edition includes an update on many bills and activities happening in Charleston, as the Legislature enters the final week of its 60-day regular session.
