WVU in the News: PSC welcomes, names new OB/GYN manikin
The WVU School of Nursing, located in the Kelley Center on the campus of WVU Potomac State College, officially welcomed the addition of a state-of-the-art OB/GYN manikin on Friday, and unveiled the name chosen for her by a collaborative effort of nursing students, the general PSC student population, and the state secretary of Human Resource.
Medicine meets movement when WVU majors collaborate for dancer assessments
Balance, pointe preparedness, core endurance and cardiovascular recovery are just a few of the physical markers health professionals evaluate while looking at a dancer’s overall fitness. During a cross-campus collaboration between the WVU School of Medicine and the WVU School of Theatre and Dance, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy and Exercise Physiology students gained experience while conducting physical assessments for Dance majors.

WVU in the News: West Virginia University Hospitals, Health Sciences Center to receive more than $23M in federal funding
The West Virginia University Health System and WVU’s Health Sciences Center will receive federal funding totaling more than $23 million. The funding will support eight projects at WVU Hospitals, Inc., including WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital and the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, as well as an award for the WVU Health Sciences Center.
WVU Nursing advisors offer support, resources for students impacted by SUD
Resources and support networks are oftentimes shared with students struggling with substance use disorder themselves, but the WVU School of Nursing advising team realized there was a population of students oftentimes falling through the cracks — students with loved ones suffering from SUD.
