4 WVU students named Goldwater Scholars, a University first

For the first time, West Virginia University has four recipients of the Goldwater Scholarship, the nation’s premier undergraduate scholarship in mathematics, engineering and natural sciences that supports students with a strong commitment to research careers.

Student employee Grace Grey receives Social Impact and Belonging Award

School of Public Health student Lillian “Grace” Grey is recognized for making a meaningful impact at WVU as a student employee. Grey, who works in the epidemiology department, received the Social Impact and Belonging Award as part of the 2026 Student Employee of the Year honors. In addition, she was selected as a runner-up in the Midwestern Association of Student Employment Administrators community service category.
