Acclaimed WVU doctor and researcher elected to National Academy of Medicine

Dr. Sally Hodder, director of the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute, associate vice president for clinical and translational science at WVU and Chancellor’s Preeminent Scholar Chair, was elected to the National Academy of Medicine for her accomplishments as an infectious diseases physician and researcher.

Public health student crowned WVU Homecoming Royalty

School of Public Health student, Hannah Warden, was crowned 2024 Homecoming Royalty (alongside fellow WVU student Megan Frappier). Warden, a senior health services management and leadership major from Cross Lanes, is one of the first students to be admitted to the Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master of Public Health program.

$300K scholarship gift supports student recruitment at WVU School of Pharmacy

Students at the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy will benefit from a $300,000 gift made by an alumnus and his wife. The James F. Smith Prescription for Excellence Award aims to boost student recruitment and retention by providing four years of scholarship support for a first-year PharmD student.

Clinician care team travels to Africa to assist with medical care

To Angela Jeffries, a WVU School of Nursing lecturer and certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), Africa was a bucket list destination. When she was offered the opportunity to travel to Africa on a mission trip, which was something she had always wanted to do as well, she couldn’t say no.

The WVU School of Nursing is hosting a fall 2024 Virtual Open House for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. EST. This event will feature information for our nationally ranked BSN program, which is offered on the Morgantown, Beckley, and Keyser campuses.
