Inaugural West Virginia Colorectal Cancer Roundtable held in Summersville
A group of concerned stakeholders from across the state met at the inaugural West Virginia Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (WVCCRT) Meeting held in Summersville on April 18, 2024, to share ideas and strategies to reduce the impact of colorectal cancer in West Virginia.
Physiology, Pharmacology & Toxicology Creates Award for Outstanding Achievements in Medical Physiology by a Second Year Medical Student.
Funded by the Robert L. Robinson Pharmacology Endowment, these funds were designated by Dr. Robinson to be used at the discretion of the Chair of the WVU Department of Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology for purposes most beneficial to the Department. A graduate of Kansas University, Dr. Robinson received his Doctorate Degree in Pharmacology. He was one of the original faculty members of the School of Pharmacology at WVU. His career there spanned 29 years from 1959 until his retirement in 1988.

NFL CMO to visit WVU campus
National Football League Chief Medical Officer Allen Sills, M.D., FACS, will visit West Virginia University's campus on Friday, May 3, as part of the RNI's ongoing work with the NFL. All are invited to attend Dr. Sills' presentation during Friday's grand rounds co-hosted by the RNI and WVU Sports Medicine.
Early career faculty encouraged to register for Teaching Scholars Program
Applications are now open for the 2024-25 Teaching Scholars Program. Presented by the WVU Health Sciences Faculty Development Program, the Teaching Scholars Program is a two-year program designed to foster the growth of early career faculty to their maximum potential in the areas of teaching, research and service.

Christopher Kiefer, M.D., MSEd, has been appointed director of faculty development for WVU Health Sciences, effective July 1. He will assume the role following the retirement of Rashida Khakoo, M.D.
