Walk, run or relax event benefiting WVU Headache Center to be held in October
Miles for Migraine will host its annual 5K run and two-mile walk at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct.12, at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park in Morgantown. The virtual event, in which participants can walk/run at their own pace and on their own schedule, will be held Oct. 10-14.
Instructions provided for Early Semester Course Feedback (ESCF) and Student Perception of Teaching (SPOT)
As approved by a vote of the Faculty Senate, the optional early semester course feedback tool (ESCF) as well as the required new student perception of teaching (SPOT) will be implemented in fall 2024.
STEPS hosting CHSE blueprint review course during Healthcare Simulation Week
STEPS will hold a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator blueprint review course on Monday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Chancellor’s Office Conference Room (HSC South 1000) as part of Healthcare Simulation Week.
Dean candidate for WVU School of Public Health on campus Sept. 5
A candidate for dean of the WVU School of Public Health will visit campus on Thursday, Sept. 5. The WVU community is invited to participate in the presentation portion to meet the candidate, Dr. Zhengmin Qian.
IT Help Center work rescheduled for Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31
To complete a system update that previously failed, the IT Help Center at it.wvu.edu/help will be offline for approximately four hours between 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31. The specific time will depend on the vendor.
New podcast listening group invites you to join the squad
All WVU students, faculty and staff are invited to join the Pod Squad. The group will discover, connect and enjoy two podcasts from WVU and beyond, gathering on the last Wednesday for a virtual meetup from 12-12:45 p.m. to discuss the selected podcasts.
Security alert: Phone calls pretending to be healthcare providers
The WVU Medicine Privacy and Security team has been notified that several people have received phone calls or texts from phone numbers that are being “spoofed” to look like WVU Medicine providers.
Join WVU Global Medical and Dental Brigades
WVU Global Medical and Dental Brigades will be traveling to rural Panama over spring break to facilitate medical, dental and public health tasks. Applications are due Friday, Sept. 13, by 5 p.m.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at WVU presents "Is Sleep the Key to Healthy Aging?"
OLLI at WVU will host the 18th annual Irving Goodman Aging Lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 18. This year’s lecture, "Is Sleep the Key to Healthy Aging?," will be delivered by Adam P. Shira, Ph.D., vice chair for research and faculty in the Department of Mental Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
