WVU Medicine Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center to celebrate Seventh Annual Night of Recognition
The WVU Medicine Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center will recognize three trauma patients and representatives from each facet of their care during the Seventh Annual Night of Recognition, which will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Morgantown Event Center at Waterfront Place.
Medical student shows the perks of coffee roasting
just so happens that the School of Medicine has its own coffee connoisseur. Second-year medical student, Jeffrey Cannon, will be demonstrating some exotic roasting techniques and specialty coffees during WVU’s Diversity Week activities on Wed., Oct. 12, 10 – 11 a.m. in Fukushima Lobby. On your way to class, stop by and sample some of his favorites from around the world.

School of Medicine seeks director for the Office of Interprofessional Education
The School of Medicine is seeking a director for the Office of Interprofessional Education. This position will be a WVU Health Sciences Center faculty appointment and require five years of experience in curriculum planning and implementation, some experience developing and implementing inter-professional education programs, a record of scholarly accomplishment and at least a master’s degree; doctoral degree preferred.
School of Medicine’s Gauri Pawar named to the ACGME Residency Review Committee for Neurology
Gauri Pawar, M.D., associate professor and director of the residency program in the Department of Neurology, was recently selected to serve on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Residency Review Committee for Neurology. Dr. Pawar’s voting term will begin July 1, 2017, with additional non-voting duties beginning as early as January 2017.
WVU BRNI brings neuroscience thought leader Dr. Gerry Rubin to campus as part of Notable Neuroscientist Seminar series
As part of the Notable Neuroscientist seminar series, the WVU Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute is bringing noted biologist and geneticist Dr. Gerry Rubin to campus on October 13 – 14.
WVU’s food bank to open second location, The Rack II@HSC
West Virginia University Health Sciences will soon open “The Rack II@HSC,” WVU Health Sciences’ Campus Food Bank, to assist with campus-wide efforts to address the growing population of homeless and/or hungry employees/students.
