Random acts of kindness week
As part of Random acts of kindness week, the office of the vice president and executive dean for WVU HSC is collecting items for the HSC RACK II Pantry. Below are some of the most requested "wish list" items. We are also happy to accept monetary donations and make necessary purchases. Please drop off your donations at the front office of the VP Suite, 1st floor HSC-South.
Faculty arrivals - January 2017
BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE Sean Rogers, MD joins the Addiction service in the Department of Behavioral Medicine. He completed internal medicine residency at WVU and has been a hospitalist at UHC.
WVU clinical rotations for international and national students
We have been receiving reports that international or national medical students have been requesting clinical rotations at WVU. Our accreditation standards require us to monitor and approve any visiting medical student request.
WVU School of Medicine announces Health Informatics and Information Management undergraduate program
The West Virginia University School of Medicine recently announced a new undergraduate program, Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM). Students began taking classes in January 2017, with the first students enrolling in the official program in August.
WVU Trademark Licensing updates academic lab coat standards
WVU's Trademark Licensing recently worked with HSC leadership to develop standardized protocol when ordering lab coats for employees and students in the following academic capacities: Health Sciences Center students, medical students and residents, professional programs, laboratory program students and professors.

SOM website top navigation update
Based on feedback from School of Medicine departments, the HSC Web Development team has been successful in petitioning the University Relations-Web team to customize the top navigation for the entire SOM website so that those links reflect the department, division, campus or sub-site pages. All department sites have been updated to reflect this change.
School of Medicine departments directed to use WVU Calendar to post events
All School of Medicine departments are strongly encouraged to use the WVU Calendar to post all university events. Categories have been created for School of Medicine and for each separate department under the School of Medicine.
